Pedra Pura

Videomapping projected onto the Pedra de Santo Antônio rock, in Conceição do Ibitipoca (Brazil), for the I-BIT Mapping Festival 2021.

Pedra Pura (Pure Stone) was created for the I-BIT Mapping Festival 2021, which proposed a dialogue between nature and technology by inviting artists to project their work onto the Pedra de Santo Antônio, a rock formation in Conceição do Ibitipoca, Minas Gerais. The piece gives the rock back its own matter: textures of stone in white, grey and red, cut to the outline of the surface, slide, break into bands and relief lines, and settle back onto it. Selected through the festival's open call, the piece was presented on 5 June 2021 and streamed live on YouTube.

It is a purely audiovisual piece: the original soundtrack was composed to drive the movements of the visual elements that interact with the projected surface.
